New Well Project - Starting June 2026
The New Well Project is funded through a grant from the Department of Water Resources, through the Integrated Regional Water Management Plan (IRMWP). The well will be located near the existing well behind the Mono City Fire Hall, and will fulfill requirements for a redundant water supply in Mono City.
The design and bidding process for the drilling of the well occurred in February and March 2026. The contract for drilling was issued to Your H2O Pro, and constrution of the well is currently scheduled to begin in June 2026.
The design for the accompanying electrical controls, pump, and connections are currently in the design phase and are expected to be put out to bidin June 2026.
Waterline Replacement Project - Completed December 2025
The Waterline Replacement project has been funded through the Department of Water Resources drought relief program, with the intent of replacing Mono City's aging and leaking water mains throughout the community.
The project was contracted to Construction Specialty, Inc. of Lee Vining, CA and was completed in December 2025.
The project was completed on time nd under budget, leaving funding available to create another task under the grant, which is to install water meters throughout the community. The details of that Task are currently being worked through, and the installation of meters is anticipated for the summer or fall of 2026.
